Virtual Reality for Pain Management During High-Resolution Manometry: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Novel research, led by Weill Cornell Medical College medical students Ilan Palte and Sarah Stewart, completed in collaboration with Cornell University colleagues from the department of Otolaryngology, Speech-Language Pathology, and Gastroenterology, demonstrate that use of virtual reality can be used to improve perceived calmness and decrease physiologic discomfort during high resolution manometric assessments of esophageal swallow function.
